Brent Barbee is a 6th-generation farmer and founder of Barbee Farms, established in 2008. Built on deep family roots, he continues a farming legacy passed down from his father, who primarily grew row crops.

Located just outside Charlotte, Barbee Farms is one of North Carolina’s few century farms—a rare example of a family farm that has remained strong as the city has grown around it.

Brent is passionate about quality and flavor, continually experimenting with crop varieties to deliver the best-tasting produce. They are currently supplying FreshPoint Charlotte with rainbow chard, sugar snap peas, and rhubarb.

From field to table, every harvest reflects a commitment to excellence and care in every crop grown.

FreshPoint Charlotte recently partnered with The Bulb for a community event supporting local families and farmers.

Since the start of our partnership in November 2025, we’ve contributed thousands in donations, helping to support their ongoing weekly efforts.

Together, The Bulb repacks fresh produce and serves an average of 550 families each week, reaching about 60 families per market. This partnership helps strengthen our community while supporting local agriculture.

Our Purpose is connecting the world to share food and care for one another.
