This Beet is known as the Striped, Chioggia, or Candy Beet. Chioggia is derived from its Italian origin off the coast of Italy from a town called Chiogga. When sliced open the Beets are a beautiful candy pink color, hence being called Candy Beets , and they are magnificently striped! They have the same taste and texture as traditional Beets without the intensely bleeding stains left in the Red Beets path.


Striped Beets can be prepared as another Beet, boiled, baked, roasted or pickled, but they lose their coloring when cooked. Too savor the beauty in dishes, try slicing thin for a garnish or add to salads with Feta cheese and Arugula.
