Released in 1986, the Melogold Grapefruit is actually a cross between a true Pummelo and a Marsh Grapefruit. This could be why the fruit is especially juicy with flavor that is a balanced blend of tart and sweet without any bitterness. The pale-yellow to white flesh produces easily segmented large, sweet sections that are tender, seedless and full of juice. This is an outstanding white flesh hybrid that can stand on its own or pair beautifully with other citrus varieties.
